We felt very much at home at Villa Schreiner!
Our host Michiel happened to celebrate his birthday on the day we arrived. We celebrated this with him while enjoying a glass of good South African wine. Michiel arranged for us a very short notice, a 2 day safari in the Entabeni game reserve, a mere 2.5 hour drive from Johannesburg, which we highly recommend. The shops and restaurants are a stone throw away, and the Bryanston Golf Club is also worth a visit. Thanks Michiel, we will be back for sure!

A Home Away from Home

I have lodged at Villa Schreiner multiple times over the past 9 months when visiting South Africa. I have stayed in all of the rooms at the Villa and discovered that they all have their own special character, comfort and provide a great place to relax away from the bustling city. My favorite place to hang is the Boma where Michiel has thoughtfully provided an honesty bar and relaxing furniture by the pool and garden. It has now become a informal tradition that Michiel prepares a Braai at least one night whenever I visit. The location is in a nice neighbourhood and close to a small park. oh -- one more thing -- great breakfast choices too.

I strongly recommend this guesthouse. Excellent rooms, excellent staff, Michiel and Mark welcomes you and make your stay very comfortable. That kind of generous hospitality are is rare to find. Marks personally- guided tour are well organized and very professional. I enjoyed every minute of my stay.

“Good location if you fly to/from Lanseria”
The location of the guest house is good, especially when you arrive for Lanseria Airport. The owner Michiel is very friendly and helpful. If you want to stay for dinner it is no problem. I stayed in a very big room and everything you needed was there.

“Outstanding Value For Money!”
I really enjoyed staying at Villa Schreiner Guest House. Owner Michiel is very friendly and gives you a lot of tips, where to dine & wine, etc. The rooms are nice, overlooking the beautiful garden & pool. Very quiet area also. Mark, the tour guide can take you to all interesting places. He is a lot of fun, and has good knowledge of the country. I certainly can recommend this place to anyone.

The rooms were extremely comfortable and well equipped with tea/coffee facilities and TV's.
The breakfasts were plentiful with a huge selection of cold meats, cheeses, breads and then also available was the cooked breakfast. We also had a really nice BBQ and beers one evening which was really well prepared. We also had a really nice tour with Mark to Soweto which was really wicked. We jumped off the Orlando Cooling Towers! I would highly recommend you to stay here and I will definitely stay here again if I return to Joburg.

We would like to say a big thank you for making our stay as comfortable and as lovely as you did.
We really felt at home and the highlight for the children was their Saturday afternoon at the pool. Breakfast was indulgent with the freshly made goodies.
